Write On! A Creative Incubator and Writer’s Retreat

June 14 - June 16

This intimate intensive writing retreat is designed to honor your truth, transform your obstacles and empower your voice. Each retreat will culminate with a performance. If you are serious about kick-starting your writing, finding your voice and sharing your story, Write On is for you.

What is it?

Write On is a three-day retreat that acts like a creative incubator/ writer’s boot camp that will get you and your story into shape and on track. These retreats are open to motivated seekers, scribes, and storytellers, who are invested in getting their voices heard via stage, blog, podcast or publishing.

This sacred intensive begins with a Friday Shabbat where we unplug and tuck into our stories, breaking bread, gathering around the fire and setting the stage for our work together. We close the night with a guided meditation and visioning for your optimal writing outcome.

Saturday we move into a full day of writing, digging, discussion, and discovery. There will be generous time available to write and rewrite your stories. During this time we will also have opportunities for light yoga, meditation and of course an abundance of nourishing and nurturing meals (vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options included)

During our time we will not only work with you on drilling down for the core of your story, but we will be offering performance feedback, direction, and support so that you are set to shine.

Sunday will culminate with the grand finale as YOU and your tribe takes the stage to share your stories with additional opportunities to share your stories at

Write On is a mix of one-on-one sessions, exercises, and small group work offering the opportunity to move more quickly through the writing process while also providing peer feedback, inspiration, and accountability.

Write On Retreats is a place that writers go growth, momentum, and motivation. Its a rare and wonderful experience to immerse yourself in your craft and polish your potential as a writer. Together with a passionate tribe of storytellers and writers, we will pull focus on your topic and polishing your writing. It is also a valuable opportunity to set you up with tools and habits that will support you in staying consistent with your writing goals. Additionally, your participation in Write On will connect you with other passionate creatives who are actively pursuing their publishing goals. My personal goals for the participants is that you fall in love with your process and leave with a road map and resolve in the knowledge that being fully expressed and creatively fulfilled is your birthright.  I would be genuinely grateful and honored to support you in your reaching your writing goals.

When does it meet?

Write On will be offered several times throughout the Spring and Summer months at My home in La Grange and on Madeline Island, Apostle Island, WI.

What people are saying.

ME? Cured of stage fright? Having the confidence to share my writing with a crowd? And walking away feeling great about it? I am truly grateful for the miracle muse that is Maureen Muldoon. – Megan Rische

Maureen’s gift is her sensitivity, clarity, and humor. She drills down to the guts of the story and she is truly inspirational. –Elise Michele, Writer

Maureen- I want to thank you and tell you I was offered and accepted the job. This has been a miracle to me for sure that I am getting out of a work situation in which my skills are underutilized and underappreciated.  Thank you so much for helping me literally change my story and change my life. Write On!- Lori W.

Maureen Muldoon demonstrates mastery at aural editing. She hears the essence of a story, suggests how to build it to full development, and also helps cull what is nonessential.  Maureen consistently brings forth the best in her writers/storytellers so that they convey their tales in a manner which connects with their audience. My work with Maureen has produced stories which feel more cleanly and honest than works from the majority of workshops and seminars in which I’ve participated.

Maureen’s many gifts is knowing exactly what is needed to improve one’s writing and gently guiding you there. My artist’s statement is so much more a reflection of what I wanted to say thanks to her help!- Pam Peterson

The best part of working with Maureen Muldoon is the lady herself. She’s joyful, attentive, bright, engaging, respectful, insightful, and genuine. Maureen is a delight, and I thank her for challenging me to create some of my best compositions to date. –Jane Mathie Artist/writer

The storytelling workshop was great, I got a ton of value from attending, and Maureen is an excellent and kind facilitator.  – Amy Graver

The Storytelling class was fantastic!   It was heartwarming to share with and listen to stories of the participants and Maureen was wonderful…supportive, encouraging, very sincere, gave great suggestions and was very welcoming!  Everyone in the class grew in their confidence level and in their writing. Hopefully, there will be a follow-up class. – DeBorah

Our class was wonderful. Maureen quickly created an atmosphere of trust‎, making it easier to share our stories, and her commentary was always encouraging and respectful. I feel we formed a unique bond through the storytelling experience
